Old Fashion
Our signature vanilla tea cake with a soft cake-like center, finished with a dusting of powdered sugar.
Soft, buttery Southern tea cakes: the kind kept in a tin on grandmother's counter. Small batches. Simple ingredients. Made the old-fashioned way.
A sweet companion to your cup.

A Little Taste of the Countryside.
Doucette Tea Cakes began in a tiny East Texas community just outside Woodville. Back roads, open pastures, and two family kitchens less than a mile apart. Our founder Carmen Lynnette grew up spending summers between her grandmothers Etta Mae and Maxine, where the food was made from scratch and the sweet things were the highlight.
The old-fashioned tea cakes they baked stayed with her. Carmen's own mother carried those recipes forward, and now Carmen bakes them by hand: soft in the center, lightly crisp at the edges, simple, unforgettable.
More than a sweet treat, it's a piece of Southern tradition. Named after the small East Texas community where generations of our family gathered, Doucette Tea Cakes are handcrafted the old-fashioned way: soft, buttery, lightly sweet, and made from scratch with simple ingredients. Every batch is handcrafted with the hope that it becomes part of someone else's memories, just as these recipes became part of ours.
“Some traditions are passed down through stories.
Others are shared one bite at a time.”
A Southern classic that's somewhere between a cookie and a cake. Soft, buttery, lightly sweet, and made the old-fashioned way, our tea cakes have been enjoyed for generations and are perfect with a cup of coffee, tea, or simply on their own.

A few pointers from our kitchen, so every bite tastes the way it should.
The icebox is not their friend. Cold air dries out that soft, cake-like center. Keep your tea cakes at room temperature in an airtight container, or a good old-fashioned tin.
A tea cake is a sweet companion to your cup. Pour something warm, settle in, and take it slow.
For that fresh-from-the-oven softness, warm one in the microwave for about 8 to 10 seconds. No longer than that. Trust us.
Our tea cakes are baked in small batches and taste best within about 5 days. If they last that long at your house, you have more willpower than we do.
Some traditions are passed down through stories. Others are shared one bite at a time. Put a few on a plate and watch them disappear.
A Southern tea cake is a soft, cake-like treat: richer and more tender than a cookie, faintly sweet, made to go with coffee, tea, or a story.
